Responses for survey here:
Our brief was to re brand a Unilever product and make an advert showing it. I decided to re brand Flora butter and it was voted by my group that we do it. The current target audience of the brand is middle aged people but I decided to re brand it for students 16-24.
We collected the feedback for the advert via a survey sent out to multiple people, unfortunately only 2 people got back to us so it was not a very good feedback. The feedback I got back from survey monkey is 50/50 saying its is really good and really bad. One of the responses said that it was really good and the other said it was no good. One survey was done by a male and the other a female, one of them was not a serious feedback so it cannot be properly used, for example in the comments box they wrote "bush did 9/11". I asked in the survey what age do they think it is aimed at and they said 0-5 and 31-40. We did not get any feedback from the class about our advert as ours was not complete when all the adverts where watched to review. The advert did appeal to the specified target audience in my opinion and I believe it would have an impact on students. Although we faced several problems along the way in the process of making this advert we came over them and made it look pretty decent however one shot is still out of time but we didn't have long enough to re film the shot. At first we taught that we would have to go back and re film all of the shots we had done because we where doing a split screen video. Luckily we worked out how to overcome this problem in post production so that it would look effective. The main problem we faced was the timings of the clip as Kain was doing some shots faster than the adjacent split screen shot, this made the entire video out of time, we went back and filmed thees shots again so they looked better however one of the shots of Kain getting it out of the fridge was still way too fast compared to the other even know they finish at the same time. The sound for the video was made by Kain on Garage Band, I would have liked to have had sound effects in the video but we did not have enough time. I believe the story line is effective enough to sell the product to the specific target audience as students can relate to waking up hungover and struggling to make breakfast... We did not particularly use persuasion techniques to sell the product such as slogans we simply shew the audience that our product was quicker and easier. I wanted to showcase that our product was easier to use and should be universally used by students as it is cheaper and easier to use.
Our final advert is not to dissimilar from our original ideas, a couple of shots where altered but it is mostly as done in the storyboards. I am satisfied with the final advert and I think it fits the brief effectively. If I where to do it again I would have people in my group other than me more involved in the filming, I would also maybe not film at Kain's house as the lighting was not very good in my opinion. I was very much involved in the project from making the storyboards to filming and editing and I believe I have worked well towards the brief.
