production diary

Production Diary:

Day 1: On this day we got out the camera and tripod with a 70-300mm telephoto lens so we could zoom through the woods, we only did two shots on that day at ten in the morning, one zooming in and the other zooming out. It took ages to get these shots right as the telephoto did not have vibration control so the shots where very shaky.

Day 2: on this day we arranged the drone shots witch a member of college staff owned, we watched all of his shots and chose two that would fit our theme, we only wanted one to begin with of the drone flying over the sea but we also got a shot of an abandoned mill.

Day 3: On day three we got the camera, tripod and a 50 mm F1.6 prime lens that was ideal for Boken, i had the idea to do Boken instead of a time lapse as it looks more effective for traffic at night. We got this shot on Caiser bypass, i like it but it would look more effective had the road been busier.
Day 4:  On day four I went to the abandoned house in Lingwood with my camera, tripod and lenses, in the end I just used my kit lens as it had the widest angle without it being distorted like the fish eye. I panned around the abandoned house in one shot and did a tilt up for the other which was of the doorway with the broken glass. i went to the abandoned house straight after college but we had lost most of the light to make it look effective, i could not do the shots i wanted to do outside the house as i would have had to use a high ISO which would make the footage look grainy.

Day 5: On day five i went to a random field and did a time lapse video of the sunset using a go pro camera that i left in the field, i tried to get one of a sunrise but it was overcast the whole time lapse was awful.
